Cozy hobbies
Without question, finding ways to reduce stress and screentime has been on top of mind. Aside keeping tabs on my adult kiddos, family and friends, libraries and thrift shops have been keeping me sane lately. Here are a few cozy activities I’ve been enjoying lately.

Thrifting
Though this could be dangerous territory running contrary to my low-buy, I’ve managed to stay disciplined and selective by only purchasing items that fill a gap. Mostly I enjoy browsing and discovering quaint, local second-hand shops. From unique clothing accessories to home goods, to used books, here are few recent and older items I’ve scored from thrift shops and second-hand stores.

Journaling
Putting pen to paper seems to spark my brain which is why I’ve been carving out a few minutes at the start of my day to journal. Whether a workday or weekend, I start the day by listing my “to-dos” and goals for the day as well as jotting down my thoughts and ideas on current projects. The tactile act of writing helps me focus and brings some clarity but more importantly, journaling keeps me off my phone or other tech that may distract.

trips to the library
What can be more cozy and inviting than perusing shelves of neatly organized books and I’m fortunate to live near libraries with solid collections of classics and recent releases. I’m also lucky that my library is open on Saturdays so that I’m able to browse and read a sample before I check out. Bonus, libraries make a great day date. My husband and I have started “day dates” an alternative to “date night” cuz we’re old and like staying in at night. We’ll start off at the library and then head to coffee or lunch and chat about the books we’ve checked out. I highly recommend and you’ll be supporting your local library.

I hope you found some inspo to find ways to take a break from the screen (after you’ve read this post of course) and to find cozy activities that may help you get through the mid-winter doldrums. What are some of your favorite cozy activities? Comment below.
Until next time,
xoxo
